Our Volunteers
The Pendill Fund owes an enormous debt of gratitude to its many volunteers on both sides of the ocean - volunteers who more than likely will never meet one another, yet together they have done wonders to make this program what it is today. On behalf of our children we thank all of you most humbly and hope that you forgive us for not listing all of you by name.
Our volunteers are from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Togliatti, Novgorod, Dmitrov, Petrozavodsk, Evpatoria, Riga, Washington, New York, San Francisco, Suzdal, Kiev, Virginia, Maryland, Chelyabinsk, New Jersey, London and Florida. Their invaluable input has allowed this program to grow and thrive. If we had to pay for these services, they would have easily cost Pendill Fund hundreds of thousands of dollars. These volunteers are committed to helping The Pendill Fund, rolling up their sleeves to: transport disabled children from northern Russia all the way to the Black Sea, carry heavy children in their arms, teach them skills and serve as proctors, help them renovate their rooms; devote endless hours at the doctor’s and dentist’s offices, travel in all kinds of inclement weather to the boonies of Russia, do endless time consuming tasks to help PF fundraise, etc… In short, they perform a million and one tasks to make this really a joint effort. As a result, our orphans see their dedication and concern for their welfare. In the process the children and volunteers have established their own personal relationships and now feel much less alone, frightened and abandoned. They now have many adults and other children whom they can turn to in case of need.
